PWD: Water Restored At Loews Hotel After Water Main Break

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Officials say water is back at the Loews Hotel in Center City after it was lost for hours following a water main break Saturday night.

The 12-inch water main break happened just before 7:30 p.m at 12th and Market streets.

The Philadelphia Water Department says many other customers were also impacted.

Power was shut of at the hotel for several hours for safety reasons, but was turned back on. There were no evacuations from the scene.

Loews officials say they did what they could to make their guests as comfortable as possible and even helped them make arrangements to get to other hotels.

Crews worked overnight to repair the break and the issue was fully resolved around 5 a.m. Sunday.
