Christie To Attend South Carolina Governor's Inaugural

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Gov. Chris Christie heads to South Carolina one day after a State of the State address aimed at potential voters beyond New Jersey's borders.

Christie on Wednesday is slated to attend Republican Gov. Nikki Haley's swearing-in ceremony and inaugural gala as she begins her second term.

As chairman of the Republican Governors Association, Christie campaigned for Haley in the fall.

South Carolina is home to the first-in-the-South GOP presidential primary.

Christie is viewed as a potential 2016 Republican presidential contender and his speech Tuesday included lessons he learned while campaigning for Republican gubernatorial candidates around the country last year.
