Chance Of Snow... For Some!

By Kate Bilo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A developing system is located off the coastal Carolinas tonight and will pass by mainly offshore tomorrow. However, it'll be a near miss for much of the area and we are keeping a close eye on the outer bands of this system, which could bring light snow to portions of the area.

The most likely spot for any measurable snow is Southern Delaware, with Sussex county potentially seeing a coating to an inch. There may be some mixing with rain or sleet as well, and this could impact coastal New Jersey into midday Wednesday as some rain or snow showers. There's always a possibility that one of the outer bands could shift further north and bring a few snow showers further inland, but at this point it looks as though the wintry precipitation will be limited to coastal areas and portions of central and southern DE.

Skies will stay cloudy tomorrow with the system offshore, and temperatures will stay locked in near the freezing mark with a chilly breeze from the northeast. The good news? After the system exits stage right tomorrow afternoon, we begin a period of dry, sunny weather with temperatures rising a bit each day - looks like we'll be enjoying the 40's this weekend!
