WEATHER: A Wet, Cold Gloomy Monday

By Geoff Bansen

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- *** A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for the N&W Philly Suburbs until noon, Lehigh Valley until 1pm and Poconos until 5pm. ***

A chilly rain has overspread much of the Delaware Valley, with some pockets of freezing rain still prevalent. They too will change to plain rain by this afternoon. It will still be a wet, cold, gloomy Monday, as the precipitation sticks around through the evening hours. The rain will become steady, and may be heavy at times. There is even a slight chance to mix back to snow as the rain ends later this evening.

Skies will clear tonight, but temperatures dropping into the 20s will make for some dangerous travel conditions as ice on roadways will be a concern. Winds will also be picking up in the wake of this storm.

Sunshine returns on Tuesday, with a continued breeze as well. Other than the chance of a flurry on Wednesday, the next several days look dry. After a week in the 30s, highs will reach the 40s by the weekend.
