DHS Investigating Discovery Of 2 Boys Inside Oxford Circle Home

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Department of Human Services is investigating the discovery of two children found in what officers initially called "deplorable conditions" inside a home in the Oxford Circle neighborhood of Philadelphia.

The discovery was made on the 1200 block of Greeby Street around 7:15 a.m. Saturday.

Police say the children, ten-year-old twin boys who suffer from ADHD and autism, were found in the bedroom. The boys, who are both non-verbal, were taken to St. Christopher's Hospital to be checked out. They were unharmed and were said to be in decent condition.

This all happened after a disturbance call was made because the children were banging on walls.

Police later said the house was not in as bad of a condition as initially thought.

There's no word yet if charges will be filed in this case against an adult who was also found inside that home.

Authorities are assisting the family by trying to find help for the children.
