California Company Recalls Frozen Beef, Pork; Products Shipped To 7 States Including NJ

BELL GARDENS, Calif. (AP) — A Los Angeles-area company is recalling more than 48,000 pounds of frozen beef and pork that may be contaminated with metal.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture says Unibright Foods of Bell Gardens is recalling 2.2-pound packages of "Mishima Sukiyaki Beef" and 1.7-pound packages of "Mishima Gingered Pork."

Both have the number "EST.1163" inside the USDA inspection mark. The beef has a package identification number of 15069, and the pork's inspection number is 15059.

The products were produced from August and December and were shipped to Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, New Jersey, and New York.

Authorities say a restaurant in Illinois reported finding a stainless steel wire in a beef product but there have been no reports of injuries or illness.
