Princeton Student Reportedly Arrested With Variety Of Drugs

PRINCETON, NJ (CBS) – Police say a student who was picking up packages in the mailroom at Princeton University was arrested.

Back in mid-December, agents with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security/U.S. Customs and Border Protection intercepted a package containing about seven grams of ecstasy that was addressed to Julian Edgren at Princeton University.

Officers providing surveillance at First Campus Center were instructed to detain anyone who retrieved the package.

On Tuesday, Jan. 6 around 4 p.m., officers arrested Edgren after he signed for the package.

A search of Edgren's room revealed additional drugs, including psilocybin, 31 marijuana cookies and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Officers also say that, at the time of Edgren's arrest, he was carrying a duffel bag with approximately half an ounce of liquid LSD, 55 grams of marijuana, five grams of hashish, 60 Adderall pills, a laptop, two digital scales and $400 cash.

Edgren, of Princeton, is charged with five counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, five counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute, one count of possession of a prescription legend drug, one count of a prescription legend drug with the intent to distribute and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

The street value of the seized drugs is $400 for the 40 grams of psilocybin; $420 for the Adderall pills; $1,100 for the marijuana; $500 for the LSD; $280 for the ecstasy; and $175 for the hashish.

Edgren is free on $25,000 bail.
