Police: Delaware Man Charged With 3rd DUI After Crashing Into Police Cruiser

MILLSBORO, Del. (CBS) – Delaware State Police say a 44-year-old man from Rehoboth Beach has been arrested for his third DUI offense after he struck a state police cruiser early Wednesday morning.

According to police, Eric T. Biase was driving on the southbound side of DuPont Boulevard, and as he began to turn right onto SR24, he lost control of the car and struck the marked police cruiser.

Officers say an odor of alcohol was detected on Biase and a DUI investigation was conducted.

While searching the vehicle Biase was driving before it got towed, 17.7 grams of marijuana was found in the console along with a glass pipe.

Biase was charged with his third DUI offense, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional in lieu of $5,000 secured bond.

No one was hurt in the accident.
