Take A Gardening Class At The Barnes
By Phran Novelli
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - OK, now what? If you made some resolutions or are just looking for something to do, why not take a class or two to learn more about gardening from some experts?
The Arboretum School of the Barnes Foundation on Latches Lane in Merion, PA where I took Horticulture classes for 3 years now offers lots of workshops too.
Starting from the ground up, try Soils Boot Camp with the very smart and funny Scott Guiser, on January 20th & 21st where you'll learn how to test, amend and fertilize your soil so every plant can thrive - and finally understand why compost is so important. And he's also teaching an upcoming class all about Weed Science.
To save yourself time, money, and effort in the garden this spring and summer, learn to plan your garden this winter, with a three-part Garden Design class teaching you to measure, make plant decisions, and design your garden on paper before you start planting.
And if you have no clue where to start, there's even a Gardening for Beginners class coming up in March.
