Harvey Pollack, Sixers' Statistician, Seriously Hurt in One-Car Crash

By Paul Kurtz

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Harvey Pollack, longtime statistician for the Philadelphia 76ers, is hospitalized in critical condition following a one-car accident last evening.

Team officials say Pollack, 92, suffered numerous internal injuries, a broken jaw, and facial lacerations.  There were no immediate details on the cause of the accident.

Pollack is the only person still working in the NBA since its inaugural season, in 1946.  He was the scorekeeper for Wilt Chamberlain's legendary 100-point game on March 2, 1962.
