Bucks County Organ Donor Among 100 Recognized in 2015 Rose Parade Float

By Jim Melwert

PASADENA, Calif. (CBS) -- One float in today's Rose Parade, in Southern California, has very special meaning to a Bucks County woman.

The "Donate Life" program once again has a float in the parade recognizing organ and tissue donors.

Barb Stebulis, of Ivyland (Bucks County), Pa., says she bought two roses for that float -- one for her son brett, killed in a car crash in 2008, when he was 22, and the other for his heart recipient, Darrin.

Barb says her family has just met Darrin during the past year and is delighted to have both roses on the float.

"To watch it go down the street and know that there's just two little roses on there that mean something so amazing for my family, it was pretty neat.  It was pretty nice," she says.

In addition to his heart, Barb says her son also donated his lungs, kidneys, and liver.
