Dog Who Helped Bensalem Woman Escape a Porch Pervert Still Missing

By Jim Melwert

BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) -- The search continues for a dog whose owners say helped chase off a half-naked, masturbating intruder in Bensalem this past Sunday night.

Evan Greathouse says he was on a plane, texting his fiancée Nicole as she watched TV in their apartment in Franklin Commons, along Park Avenue near Hulmeville Road.

"Suddenly the text messages changed to kind of some garbled messages about an intruder coming in the house," he recalls.

Greathouse says their dogs alerted his fiancée to the man and she was able to escape their apartment.  But the man, identified by police as Angel Suarez Medero, smashed though the sliding door and was seen by neighbors jumping through a window holding one of their dogs.

Suarez Medero was shot by another resident of the complex when, according to police, he tried to force his way into another apartment.   He remained hospitalized as of this morning.

The dog, a four-year-old, long-haired dachshund named "Ollie," has been missing ever since.

"We were worried that he may have been cut badly or suffered a spinal injury," Greathouse muses.

But he says there was a sighting near their apartment this morning.  He asks if anyone sees the dog, do not chase it since it's already scared, which may force it even farther into hiding.  Anyone with information is asked to call 610-400-3132 or send an e-mail to greatcasa@gmail.com.
