Sex Tape Involving Minors Making Rounds At Bucks County Middle School

By Dan Wing, Syma Chowdhry

BRISTOL, Pa. (CBS) -- Bristol Township School officials and police are investigating after a sexually explicit video was found on some students' cell phones.

In a letter sent home to parents Wednesday, Bristol Township School District Superintendent Dr. Samuel Lee said the video was brought to his attention after it had been shared among an unspecified number of students.

"It's my understanding that a video has been distributed among our students which shows minors engaging in activities that are inappropriate and, in fact, illegal," Dr. Lee said.

Lee urged parents to warn their children about the dangers and legal consequences of sharing the video, which depicted minors engaged in sexual conduct.

The video of two minors engaging in sexual activity was found by officials Tuesday during a school concert.

"Students had been viewing a video at our choral concert on Tuesday night. The students were very forthcoming and concerned," Dr. Lee explained.

Lee said guidance counselors and the school's principal are talking with students about the contents.

Acting Chief of Police Lt. John Godzieba released the following statement on the investigation:

"The Bristol Township Police Department is investigating a report of a video of sexual conduct between two juveniles being circulated among students via cellphone at Franklin D Roosevelt Middle School, 1000 block of Veterans Highway Bristol, PA. At this time, it is not believed that the video was shot on school property or in school buildings. A number of cellphones have been secured by police for investigation, which is ongoing. School District administrators have circulated a letter to parents advising them of the incident."

Police haven't confirmed if the two children in the video are Bristol Township students, nor will they say if the students in the video knew they were being filmed.

There are laws against sharing sexually explicit material involving minors, even if minors are the ones sharing the pictures or videos.

"I don't think they are realizing the consequences to what they are doing, and there are consequences," said Patricia Jones, of Bristol.

"I think it's disgusting --I don't even know what to say about it," agreed Maria Lopez, a middle school parent.

"It's amazing that they just don't care what they share. It really is, it's baffling now -- these kids don't care!" said grandparent Gary Brodsky.

It is unclear if the students involved have been suspended.

So far, no charges have been filed.

Bristol Township Police have confiscated several cell phones as part of the investigation, which is ongoing.
