Philly Cuban Restaurant Offering Drink Specials In Honor Of Historic Announcement From White House

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Cuban restaurant that's name literally translates to "Free Cuba" is offering a deal in honor of the renewal of diplomatic relations between the small island nation and the United States.

Cuba Libre, located in Old City, announced Thursday it will be offering $5 Cuba Libres starting today and running through Monday, December 22nd.

The Cuba Libre is a Cuban cocktail made with rum, Coca-Cola and lime.

And the restaurant wants customers to get engaged in "intelligent conversation" over the Pres. Obama's decision to lift certain restrictions and restore diplomatic ties to Cuba. At the bar, there will be fact sheets guests can request that explain the details of the historic U.S. announcement.

The drink special is available at Cuba Libre's Old City outpost, as well as its three other locations in Atlantic City, D.C. and Orlando.
