PHILADELPHIA, PA (CBS) — Malcolm Jenkins is aware of the situation and realizes the big picture can't be realized unless the more immediate issue is addressed, and that's beating the Washington Redskins on Saturday.

Confidence isn't high right now that the Eagles will make the playoffs, after their 38-27 loss to Dallas on Sunday. As a whole, the Eagles are in a tough position right now. They could finish 11-5—and not make the playoffs, because of their inability to beat playoff contenders.

"During the game you get locked into anything you can do to win the game and we all put an effort into winning," Jenkins said. "The frustration didn't really surface on where we are now until after the game. When I tell you everyone in our locker room feeling we should have won that game, and now the biggest thing for us, in my opinion, is the turnover margin."

"We're dead last in the NFL in turnovers—and that is the biggest stat in football. You're giving away opportunities for yourself and giving them to your opponent. Every game, we're turning the ball over once or twice and we're still in a position to win. We feel we're better than everyone we play. But if we give other teams so many opportunities, you can talk about third down, you can talk about big plays, the rung game, but the common thread is the turnover margin. Sometimes we've been able to over come it. Sometimes we haven't, and to me personally, that's the biggest thing."

The Eagles have an NFL-high 34 turnovers, with NFL highs in interceptions (19) and lost fumbles (15). The Eagles are in a four-way tie for 26th in the NFL in giveaway-takeaway, at minus-9.

"The we take care of the ball has to be a premium, especially at this time of year," Jenkins said. "Someone brought it up to me Sunday night, I guess we're rooting for Indy [Indianapolis visits Dallas on Sunday]. My response to that was we're not rooting for anybody but ourselves. For now, nothing matters unless we win this week. If we don't win, we won't be in it. We have to focus all of our attention and focus on beating the Washington Redskins.

"All anyone will want to talk about this week is the Dallas game. And that's cool. But for us internally, it means nothing at this point. The situation is we have to win, and win bad and try to fix the things we need to get corrected."
