NBA Alters All Star Voting To Include All Players

By Ray Boyd

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- NBA All-Star balloting has typically been controlled by a pre-determined ballot of players that the league presents to fans. The ballot included what were regarded as the "best" players in the game and allowed for one write in vote as well.

This season, the league is opening up the field completely. For the first time, the ballot includes the entire list of current NBA players. That means you can now vote for any grouping of 10 players (within the position structure) to go to the All-Star Game.

For example: Your Eastern Conference ballot may read something like PG Michael Carter-Williams, SG Tony Wroten, SF Robert Covington, PF Nerlens Noel and C Henry Sims.

While that lineup more than certainly will not be represented at this year's game, for the first time you can vote for it.

You can go here to complete your ballot for the 2015 NBA All Star Game which is set for February 15th at Madison Square Garden.

In addition to the online ballot, fans can also text and use Twitter to vote for players. The Sixers are wasting no time campaigning for their young talent.
