Del. Officials Investigating 3 Early Morning Arsons At Local Churches

FELTON, Del. (CBS) -- Officials in Delaware are searching for the suspect or suspects responsible for starting fires inside three churches early Tuesday morning.

The first fire broke out around 2 a.m. at the Healing Hands Christian Church in the 500 block of Berrytown Road in Felton. Damage to the church was estimated at $75,000.

Just after 2 a.m., crews were called to the Manship Chapel on the 4900 block of Burnite Mill Road for another fire.

Then, around 5:30 a.m., firefighters responded to a third blaze at the Laws Mennonite Church on Carpenter Bridge Road at Canterbury Road.

Damage to the second and third church was estimated at $1,000 and $10,000 respectively.

All three fires were declared a result of arson.

No injuries were reported.
