High School Top 10: Pennsbury Closing In On Another Title

By Joseph Santoliquito

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It's been eight years since Pennsbury last won the District 1 Class AAAA title, and the Falcons will try to snap that dry spell when they take on undefeated Coatesville, at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Souderton High School in the district championship.

The game is an interesting contrast in styles. Pennsbury is power running team led by senior tailback Charles Snorweah, while Coatesville uses a spread attack and is more balanced.

Yet, Pennsbury, which is a bit one dimensional, holds a slight edge. The Falcons, for one, play in a much tougher conference, the rugged Suburban One National, and have played, overall, a more difficult schedule. Coatesville may not have the up-front muscle to deal with Pennsbury's ground attack.

The Rutgers-bound Snorweah has rushed for 920 yards and 13 touchdowns in three district playoff wins, including 428-yard, seven-touchdown performance in the Falcons' opening 63-55 playoff win over Downingtown West.

Coatesville counters with quarterback Jordan Young, who's guided the Red Raiders to a 13-0 mark and an offense that's averaging 36 points a game.
