Report: Sixers To Add Forward Furkan Aldemir

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Sixers may be close to adding one of their overseas talents to the NBA roster. According to a report from Sportando, Furkan Aldemir could be close to terminating his contract with his Turkish team and will continue his professional basketball career with the Sixers.

The Sixers acquired Aldemir's rights in 2013 in a trade with the Houston Rockets. Aldemir, 23, is 6'10 and was selected by the Clippers in the 2012 NBA Draft with the 53rd selection.

Aldemir has spent this season with Galatasaray in the Turkish Basketball League. According to the Sixers, Aldemir is averaging 8.5 points and 9.6 rebounds per game in 10 games with his Turkish team.

According to the report, Aldemir is terminating his contract with Galatasaray over non-payment. Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Aldemir's deal with the Sixers would include two guaranteed seasons.
