Halftime: Eagles 27 Titans 17

By Joseph Santoliquito

PHILADELPHIA, PA (CBS) — The darting, feinting LeSean McCoy made an appearance and the Eagles scored on five of their first seven drives to take a 27-17 lead over the visiting Tennessee Titans on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.

McCoy closed the half with 100 yards on 14 carries, which included a touchdown and a 53-yard run that set up a Cody Parkey field goal that gave the Eagles a 20-7 lead.

Despite getting off to a 17-0 lead, the Titans did manage to close within 20-14 after scoring on consecutive drives. But the Eagles answered with a 10-play, 69-yard drive that chewed up 3:47 and put the Eagles back up, 27-14.

Mark Sanchez was 19 of 27 for 195 yards in the half with an interception, which led to Tennessee's first score. He missed an open Riley Cooper at the end of the half, but did direct the Eagles to a half-closing Parkey 49-yard attempt that clanged off the left upright.

Josh Huff opened the game with an Eagles-record 107-yard kickoff return that gave the Eagles a 7-0 just 13 seconds into the game.

The Eagles' defense, however, struggled. The Birds surrendered 206 total yards to the Titans, 162 through the air. Tennessee rookie quarterback Zach Mettenberger completed 8 of 15, averaging 10.1 yards a completion.
