Philadelphia Officer Struck By Fleeing Suspect's Car

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia Police say an officer was injured Saturday evening after they were struck by the getaway car of a gunman on the run in West Kensington.

This happened around 5:15 p.m. on the highway on the 2300 block of North Fairhill Street.

Police say the officer was struck by the fleeing vehicle after responding to a call of a person with a gun.

Officials say the officer is in fair condition at Hahnemann Hospital and is being checked for scrapes and abrasions.

An arrest has been made and the weapon was recovered, according to police.
