Woman Fatally Stabbed In Chester, Delaware County

CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) – Police in Chester, Delaware County are searching for the suspect responsible for fatally stabbing a woman early Friday morning.
The woman, believed to be around 50-years-old, has been identified as Gwendolyn Williams.
She was reportedly stabbed in the chest region just after midnight.
Police say she was been stabbed on the street but was found dead at a home at 733 Engle Street.
"I can't understand why someone would do that to her. I just don't get it," said neighbor and friend Nate Smith.
Smith says he's known Williams for years and he found that she was stabbed when he woke up Friday morning.
"She's a very nice lady."
Law enforcement sources tell Eyewitness News shortly after being stabbed, she knocked on the door of her friend's house on Engle Street.
"I was upstairs and when I came down, they told me she had gotten stabbed," said close friend Jackie Logan.
An investigation is underway.
