Paper Bag Speed-dating Is Apparently A New Trend

NEW YORK, NY (CBS) – A guy walks into a speed-dating session…but his date has a brown paper bag over her head.

It's the newest way to meet a potential love interest in New York.

People walk in wearing paper bags and go on two-minute speed dates.

If there's a connection, it's based on more than just looks.

Potential daters say the event puts the focus on personality.

"If you usually go looks first, then personality…this is kinda cool, to mix it up," one man said.

"There's so much more to people than just what you see, but oftentimes we don't allow ourselves to see the other side," another person agreed.

Eventually, there is a reveal, but that only happens after people meet and get to know one another with the paper bags.
