TOMS RIVER, N.J. (CBS) -- A 73-year-old man exposed himself to an eight-year-old girl inside a dollar store in New Jersey, police said.

The Toms River Police Department said Gustavo Miranda surrendered to police on Tuesday and is facing several charges.

The incident happened on November 6th inside the Dollar Tree store in the 1300 block of Hooper Avenue in Toms River.

According to investigators, the suspect followed the eight-year-old girl up and down the aisles of the store.

Police say at one point, the suspect placed himself extremely close to the young girl and was within her "personal space."

Investigators said the young girl's aunt then observed the man exposing his genitals in his hand.

The aunt confronted the suspect who then ran out of the store.

The Toms River Police Department said they received numerous tips after releasing surveillance video of the suspect and they were able to identify Miranda as their suspect.

Miranda is facing charges of Sexual Assault, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Lewdness.

He is free after posting bail and faces a future court appearance.

The Toms River Police Department said they are exploring the possibility that there may be other victims and anyone with information should call Toms River Police Detective Thomas Grosse 732-349-0150 extension 1263 or Ocean County Prosecutors Detective Lindsay Woodfield at 732-929-2027.
