Facebook has updated and shortened its privacy policies and terms and conditions for users.

The company also introduced a new "Privacy Basics" feature to get more people to read and comprehend the terms they must agree to in order to use the service. "Our goal is to make the information about Facebook as clear as possible," said Erin Egan, Facebook's chief privacy officer. "Our hope is that it won't take long for people to read through this and really get it," she said.

The company says the new policy is 2,700 words, down from more than 9,000.

"Say Thanks" with Facebook

Building off of last year's success of "Look Back" videos, Facebook has launched another video tool just in time for Thanksgiving.

Facebook's new video project "Say Thanks" lets users create personalized video cards for their friends and family that highlights the times they've shared together.

Users select a friend and a theme for the video, such as "old friends," "friends", "complicated" or "family" and each theme has its own music and feel.

Similar to how users were able to select and edit photos for their Look Back video, users can choose the photos that most represent their friendship with that person and include wall posts, like "Happy Birthday" messages.

Unlike the "Look Back" feature, users can create and share as multiple "Say Thanks" videos. Nearly 200 million users watched the "Look Back" video Facebook created for them and about half shared it on their Timeline.

"Say Thanks" is available globally on both desktop and mobile in multiple languages.
