Fans Pick Sanchez Over Newton

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Mark Sanchez, infamous for his "butt-fumble", will make his first NFL start since December 30th, 2012. Sanchez has 71 career interceptions, to 70 career touchdown passes.

Sanchez and the Eagles will host Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers on Monday night. Newton, the former No. 1 overall pick, has struggled of late throwing three interceptions to only one touchdown in three consecutive losses.

On Friday on the 94WIP Mike & Ike Show, fans were asked using the Audio Roadshow app if they would rather have Sanchez or Newton as their starting QB for Monday night's game. Well, wouldn't you know it, the majority of the fans chose Sanchez.

"That's a very good question," former Pro Bowl QB and current WFAN radio host Boomer Esiason told Michael Barkann and Ike Reese on the 94WIP Mike & Ike Show. "Cam has really struggled here of late. I would still want Cam, simply because he's young, he's dynamic, he's a superman when he plays at a very high level. I think he has been somewhat hamstrung down there in Carolina by some of the decisions that they've made this past off season and he's really been hurt by that. But the interesting thing is, if you had to tell me I could have Mark Sanchez for what he's making, as opposed to what Cam Newton thinks he should be making, then I would take Mark Sanchez."
