Residents In Aberdeen, Maryland React To Investigation Into Abduction Of Philadelphia Woman

ABERDEEN, MD (CBS) – Many people in Aberdeen, Maryland are shocked to learn that the investigation into the abduction of a Philadelphia woman has come to their town.
"My heart is just, like, beating, because like you said, it is so close to home," says Cheryl Mathews, of Havre de Grace.
Carlesha Freeland-Gaither was violently abducted in Germantown on Sunday night. Less than eight hours later, her ATM card was used at a PNC Bank in Aberdeen around 6 a.m.
Minutes later, the same person of interest from the surveillance footage was seen at a nearby Shell gas station.
He's described by police as a black male who is 5'10" with a medium-heavy build. He's between 25 and 30 years old and was wearing a dark colored jacket with a dark hood, possibly a hooded sweatshirt underneath that, a dark colored hat and dark colored pants.
Some folks haven't been following the two state investigation. Eyewitness News showed some people the surveillance video.
"I have not heard about it, so you're the first people to inform me, but I will keep my eye out," says Tom Means, who works in Aberdeen.
Others have been paying close attention.
"I've been hearing a lot of things. People seem really concerned. I hope she turns up. I hope she will be okay," says Aras Akyar, of Havre de Grace.
The store manager at the Shell station did not want to speak on camera but says they are cooperating with authorities.
He says FBI agents came to the store to dust for fingerprints and search for other clues that could potentially lead them to the person of interest.
