Police: Man Tried To Rob South Jersey Bank With Cordless Drill

SICKLERVILLE, N.J. (CBS) -- A man tried to pass off a cordless drill as a gun during the attempted robbery of a bank in South Jersey Tuesday, police said.
The incident happened at about 4 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Bank on Sicklerville Road in Winslow Township.
According to the Winslow Township Police Department, the suspect, identified as 39-year-old Raymond McNeil, entered the bank wearing a mask and demanded money from a teller.
Police say McNeil used a cordless drill that was wrapped in a towel in an attempt to pass it off as a handgun.
The teller did not give McNeil any money and he ran out of the bank.
Officer arrived to the scene and eventually tracked down McNeil in an upstairs bedroom closet of a vacant home. Police say McNeil broke into the home while trying to elude capture.
McNeil was taken into custody and charged with Robbery, Burglary and Unlawful Possession of Weapon.
A search warrant of the vacant home was executed and investigators say the clothes and mask McNeil used during the attempted robbery were recovered.
The cordless drill that McNeil used was also located.
McNeil was taken to the Camden County Jail in default of $100,000 full cash bail.
