Kaboni Savage Soldier Gets 40 Years In Prison
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A former cohort of drug kingpin and convicted murderer Kaboni Savage has been given a lengthy prison term.
Lamont Lewis, 38, of Philadelphia, was sentenced to 40 years in prison for his role in the Oct. 9, 2004 retaliatory firebombing of a home that killed six members of a federal witness' family, including four kids.
Lewis pleaded guilty in 2011 and testified against Savage, who ordered the firebombing, as well as three other co-conspirators.
As part of a 2011 plea agreement, Lewis also pleaded guilty to five additional murders and agreed to testify against several others, including Savage.
Kaboni Savage was sentenced to death for 12 counts of murder, and his co-defendants, Kidada Savage, Robert Merritt and Steven Northington all received life in prison.
