Del. Man Facing Charges After Allegedly Making Bomb Threat That Evacuated Amazon.com Facility

NEW CASTLE, Del. (CBS) – Police in Delaware have charged a Wilmington man with allegedly making a bomb threat against an Amazon.com facility.

On Nov. 3rd, police responded to the Amazon.com facility at Centerpoint Boulevard around 2:30 p.m.

Officers were told that Jason I. Fitzgerald, 37, had told another employee that there was a bomb on a pallet of boxes inside the building.

Employees were evacuated from the facility while police, assisted by the Del. State Police Bomb Detection K-9, searched the building.

While nothing was found at the scene, Fitzgerald is now facing charges of Terroristic Threatening-Causing Evacuation of a Building and released on $2,000 unsecured bond pending a Preliminary Hearing.
