Tom Wolf Talks With Voters In Philadelphia On Election Day Morning

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Democratic gubernatorial candidate Tom Wolf is focusing on Philadelphia on this election day, before heading to his home near York to vote later in the day.
Tom Wolf chatted with voters above ground at 15th and Market, and below ground in Suburban station, where he caught up with KYW's Mike Dunn.
"The weather is beautiful, which is always a good thing for turnout," Wolf said. "Turnout is key, and Philadelphia has always been a great place for me. So I'm hoping (in) Philadelphia I'm going to do well."
Wolf said he wasn't worried about his decision to withhold the traditional street money to pay campaign workers in Philadelphia.
"I've never done this before. I'm not much for strategy. I just think that my conversations directly with the voters is what really matters," he said. "And I'm hoping that people will come out and vote for me not because there's been money involved, but because I'll make a better governor than Tom Corbett."
Philadelphia is a traditional stronghold for the Democratic Party, and thus is key to Wolf's hopes of unseating incumbent Governor Tom Corbett.
"Get out and vote," Wolf said. "This is a democracy. And democracy cannot survive the indifference of its citizens. And this is what we do as citizens. We vote."
