Gas Prices Drop In New Jersey For 7th Straight Week

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Motorists continue to see sharply lower prices at the pumps in New Jersey.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in the state on Friday was $2.83, down 7 cents from last week. That's also much lower than the price from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.16.

This marks the seventh straight week that gas prices have fallen in New Jersey.

The national average price on Friday was $3, down 7 cents from last week. That's also much lower than the national average from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.28.

Analysts say it's likely that gas prices will continue to fall in coming weeks. They say the lower prices are due to decreased demand and lower crude oil prices.
