Big Temperature Changes This Week

By Justin Drabick

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It is a pleasant start to the week with high temperatures near average today in the low to mid 60s. A brief change in the weather pattern will allow temperatures to surge well above average on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tonight will be a clear night to view a rocket launch from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility and Virginia's Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport. Look to the south this evening when the rocket launch is set to take place at 6:45 p.m. Monday.

A warm front will move through on Tuesday allowing for sunshine and high temperatures into the mid 70s, well above the average high of 63. The warm air mass will remain in place on Wednesday with a high near 70 degrees, before more changes occur. A cold front will cross through the Delaware Valley Wednesday afternoon, bringing a chance of a shower.

Fall weather fans will love the forecast for the end of the week. Behind the front, a colder air mass will return on Thursday with highs near 60 under sunny skies. Friday will be partly sunny and cool with highs in the upper 50s with dry conditions continuing for trick or treat night. A strong jet stream disturbance will move through late Friday night, bringing a shower chance. This will bring reinforcing shot of cold air along with windy conditions for with highs only near 50 degrees.
