Michael Carter-Williams Targets Nov. 6th For Return

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Michael Carter-Williams has been sidelined for the Sixers in the preseason. He underwent shoulder surgery in the off-season and the team has limited his participation in Training Camp.

Carter-Williams and the team are now targeting November 6th as a return to action for the reigning Rookie of the Year.

The team announced on Saturday that they plan to allow Carter-Williams to be a full participant in practice. Since the surgery he has been limited to simple drills and jump shooting, but no full contact scrimmages.

There has not been a timetable set for when the Sixers expect Carter-Williams to take the floor in a game. The team opens the regular season against the Pacers on October 29th. The team will play five games before November 6th and play on November 7th against the Bulls.

Brett Brown spoke with reporters on Saturday and indicated that he doesn't expect it to take too long to start playing Carter-Williams after he returns to practice. "It's certainly not going to take him a month from when he first comes back," Brown said.
