Unsung Hero: John Neal

"He helped to get a bill passed into law, in Harrisburg, and the bill established that Krabbe disease will be tested for, along with any other childhood or infant disease that they test for with that little heel prick when newborns are born," Michael Barkann said on the 94WIP Mike & Ike Show introducing Neal.

"The protective covering of the nerves and the brain start to break down, which expose the nerves, and then when the become damaged they're no longer useful. They can't send signals to the rest of the body. So, these poor kids lose the ability to move, speak, hear, and see," Neal said.
