Weather: A Windy, Cloudy And Rainy Wednesday Night

By Kate Bilo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Rainy, windy and chilly - just a raw day across the area and unfortunately, this storm isn't budging anytime soon. Our strengthening system is still sitting off the New Jersey coast tonight and will gradually drift northward through tomorrow, shifting the bands of heaviest rain into New England. But we will still be dealing with it's impacts right through tomorrow at least, and even on Friday.

Tonight is windy, cloudy and rainy - rain could be heavy at times, especially down the shore, as areas of intense rainfall have set up just off the coast. Tomorrow, the rain is not as much of a threat but showers will be with us at any time - tomorrow will be most notable for the wind and the chill. Highs will barely scrabble to the mid-50's, but with winds gusting to 30mph, it will feel no better than the 40's for much of the day.

There is some good news buried deep in this forecast, however! Friday we transition away from the influence of this low - it's still very breezy but the run returns. Then get ready for a lovely fall Saturday with highs in the upper 60's and sunshine. A brief shot of cool returns Sunday but next week starts on a gorgeous note - we could be in the 70's both Tuesday and Wednesday!
