Police: Canola Oil Poured All Over Special Needs Playground In South Jersey Rendering Equipment Unusable
ABSECON, NJ (CBS) – Police are investigating a report of criminal mischief at a special needs playground in Absecon, New Jersey.
Caretakers of the Field of Dreams playground, located in the Absecon Sports Complex on 1000 Morton Avenue, told police that someone poured canola oil all over the equipment, making it unusable.
Officers found an empty bottle nearby believed to have been used to damage the playground. The incident is believed to have happened within the last two days.
Authorities secured the area until a professional cleaning company can clean up the oil from the equipment.
Police and officials will be reviewing surveillance video in order to get a description of the suspect or suspects.
