Warming Up, Then Rain

By Justin Drabick

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It was a cool start to the week as clouds and a few showers kept temperatures below average in the 60s today.  A warm front will then push through the region tomorrow, brining in a warmer and more humid air mass.  Southerly winds will bring in the moist air mass tonight, keeping the chance for some drizzle and fog overnight with mild lows in the lower 60s.

After some morning fog, some sunshine will return on Tuesday with high temperatures well above average near 80 degrees.  The warm air mass will continue on Wednesday with highs again around 80 degrees. It will feel very muggy both on Tuesday and Wednesday as dew point temperatures, which measures how much humidity is in the air, will be on the high side in the upper 60s.  A strong storm system with a cold front will move into the Delaware Valley bring showers later in the day and at night.  Some showers could be heavy with some thunderstorms possible late Wednesday night.

The front will move through the region on Thursday keeping the chance form some heavy showers on Thursday morning, with cooler highs in the lower 70s.  Overall rainfall amounts could exceed .50" before drier conditions return for Thursday night.  Pleasant conditions return on Friday with sunshine and comfortable highs in the lower 70s.
