Roseman Sees Win Over Giants As Testament To What Eagles Can Be

By Ray Boyd

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Eagles came out of Sunday night's game against the Giants sporting a 5-1 record and for the first time this season, there were no reservations about this win. The fans have been waiting for some dominance and they finally got it.

The win has some in the organization excited about what this team can accomplish.

That sentiment rings true with the team's general manager, Howie Roseman. The boss joined 94 WIP's Merrill Reese and Anthony Gargano on Monday for The Howie Roseman Show and he was clearly in a good mood following his team's 27-0 win over the Giants.

"You see what kind of football team we can possibly be [when all three phases come together]," Roseman said about the team's victory. All three phases have certainly clicked at times this season, but Sunday's win marked the first time they all appeared to click in unison and for four quarters.

The big win heading into the bye gives the Eagles a chance to take a moment to soak it all in.

"You get very few moments in this sport during the season to just sit back and enjoy the moment," Roseman said. The Eagles now have that moment and it comes at a time when they can use it considering the injury bug that is still nagging the roster.

The team is still dealing with the loss of Jason Kelce, Evan Mathis and Mychal Kendricks. All of those were added onto by the suspension of Lane Johnson and the injury suffered by Darren Sproles on Sunday which leaves his status for the immediate future in question. Roseman applauded his team's resilience through this time.

"That to me shows the heart and dedication of the team," Roseman said.

Roseman also went on to speak about a player who was apart of perhaps the most dominant phase on Sunday night, the defensive front. That player was Vinny Curry.

Curry recorded two sacks against Eli Manning to bring his total on the season to four.

"We knew he could always rush the passer. He can do that in his sleep," Roseman raved. "But he can also play the run. He just continues to perform."

Roseman went on to add that Curry brings a level of exuberance to the team that stems from his passion to play for the Eagles.

Curry's passion on that particular night also seemed to be fueled by the Giants throughout the week.

"[The Giants] have been talking all week and we just prepared super hard this week and guys were just executing the game plan on all cylinders," Curry said. The Eagles definitely appeared to use the Giants' chatter as bulletin board material.

Curry couldn't forget about crediting the fans as well.

"This is my third year and I can honestly say that was the loudest the Linc has rocked since I've been here," Curry claimed. Curry likened the spotlight to that of a concert.

"Sunday night is cool. Primetime... it's like a concert, the main event, the headliner. You got to be able to rock the stage." The Eagles certainly put on quite a show and fans are definitely hoping for plenty of encores.
