LeSean McCoy On His Game Against Giants: "It Felt Amazing"

By Ray Boyd

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- 22 carries for 149 yards. That's a line that looks more like the typical stat line for LeSean McCoy. We have not seen those type of performances from McCoy this season, until Sunday night's 27-0 win over the Giants.

"The Real Shady," stood up for the Eagles on Sunday night and his emergence brought another dimension to an offense that has certainly struggled at times this season.

On Monday, McCoy joined 94 WIP's Anthony Gargano and Ike Reese to discuss the Eagles win over the rivals from up north and to talk about his big performance.

"It felt amazing," McCoy said about the performance. "The Linc was definitely rocking. Something about that all black that really had everybody going."

The Blackout seemed to be welcomed, but McCoy's performance probably contributed much more to the raucous nature of the Eagles faithful.

The fan base had been clamoring for that type of a performance from the player that is hands down the most dangerous offensive weapon at the team's disposal. As evident by Sunday night's game, when things are going well for McCoy, it opens up everything for the rest of the offense.

A noticeable change to the game plan for the Eagles was their commitment to run the ball more with Nick Foles under center as opposed to the shotgun. McCoy credited the team's preparation for his opportunities against the Giants.

"The game plan was amazing," said McCoy. "We were under center and I could see everything so much more clear, use different lanes, if a guy got penetration you could adjust to it and also we can work off it."

McCoy added that with Foles under center there was more opportunity to catch the defense off guard with quick three step drops and play action.

As well as McCoy played, he had to give some credit to his blockers up front.

"Talk about owning the line of scrimmage and dominating. That's exactly what they did," McCoy said.

The Eagles key offensive weapon also added by saying that the win over the Giants proved what the Eagles look like on offense when all the pieces of it are clicking at the same time. The Eagles will look to continue that cohesion when they come out of the bye week to face the Arizona Cardinals.

McCoy also took some time to address all the talk about him losing a step that was coming from those who saw his early struggles as the sign of a decline. McCoy said he doesn't really take any personal satisfaction in showing people that he still "has it."

"One thing about myself is I have thick skin," McCoy said. "My whole life I've been dealing with all types of issues so I'm used to it. Adversity, I don't shy away from it, I embrace it."
