CW Philly To Air Documentary On The Life Of Dr. Edward Robinson

By Cherri Gregg

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A documentary on the life of Dr. Edward Robinson, the father of African and African American history, will air Sunday on the CW Philly.

Titled, "On the Wings of an Eagle," the one-hour production chronicles the life of the late Dr. Edward Robinson, a lawyer, historian, author and educator who believed that many African Americans feel lost and undervalued because they have little understanding of their history.

"Most African Americans really think of Africa as a taint -- a place they don't even want to relate to."

Award-winning producer Bob Lott is the force behind the documentary, which highlights Robinson's philosophy and curriculum on African American history.

"His teaching of the beauty and grandeur of what Africa used to be before we were all taken and brought here, it changes the minds of youth to where they are more successful - they make a determination that they are somebody and that they are going to be somebody."

"On the Wings of An Eagle" airs at 11 a.m. Sunday on CW Philly.
