Amtrak Offering Unique Fall Foliage-centric Train Ride
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Watching the leaves change is one of the highlights of fall, but taking in the gorgeous fall foliage from the comfort of an Amtrak train?
To some, that just might be priceless.
In honor of the season, Amtrak has just announced it is bringing back one of its rarer routes: the Autumn Express.
For one weekend in November, passengers can board a train at Philadelphia's 30th Street Station and travel through towns, and, if you will, "over the river and through the woods" on a magical seasonal journey that stops briefly in Harrisburg before heading back to Philly.
In addition to those changing leaves, Autumn Express passengers will see historic sites like the Flat Rock Tunnel, one of the oldest in the country, and chug by Pennsylvania vacation destinations, like Hershey.
The Autumn Express is set for Saturday, Nov. 8th and Sunday, Nov. 9th and departs at 9:45 a.m.
