One More Sunny Day, Then Some Rain

By Justin Drabick

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --  Sunshine and a westerly wind helped temperatures climb into the mid 70s today, well above the average high of upper 60s for this time of year.  The pleasant conditions continue tonight with clear skies, but a cooler air mass will return tonight.  Low temperatures will drop into the lower 50s for the city and 40s in the suburbs.  A high pressure system will remain in control for Thursday, keeping skies mostly sunny with highs a bit cooler near 70 degrees.

Clouds will then return for Friday as a frontal boundary approaches the Delaware Valley.  Some shower chances will return, especially Friday afternoon and at night.  A steadier rain may develop late Friday night and continue into Saturday morning, as the front moves very slowly through the region.  Highs on Friday and Saturday will be much cooler in the low to mid 60s.

The second half of the weekend improves as drier air builds back in later Saturday and for Sunday.  A mix of sunshine and clouds will return for Sunday with high temperatures staying on the cool side in the middle 60s.  Some milder temperatures will try to return early next week with the chance for some showers.
