Yandamuri Back On The Stand In Montco Double Murder Trial

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) — The Upper Merion man defending himself in a gruesome double murder in King of Prussia nearly two years ago will be back on the stand this morning laying out his version of how the crimes happened for the jury.
Since Raghu Yandamuri is acting as his own attorney there were no questions and answers, just rambling testimony at times about how detectives coerced him into admitting he killed a ten-month-old infant and her grandmother in what prosecutors say was a kidnapping attempt gone bad.
Yandamuri told the jury that he was forced to make the confession because the detectives were threatening his pregnant wife and playing the two against each other.
Prosecutors maintain Yandamuri was planning to hold the baby for ransom, but he told the jury he borrowed money from friends -- not to repay gambling debts, but to help pay for visas for his relatives in India.
The 28-year-old man says he was forced to go the apartment at gunpoint by two men who committed the crimes.
A detective told the jury he would have followed those two to the gates of hell if he believed they were involved but there's no evidence of that.
