Third Person Dies After Del. Tour Bus Crash

NEW CASTLE, Del. (CBS) – A third person has succumbed to their injuries following the deadly Delaware tour bus crash that happened nearly two weeks ago.

Officials say Jyostina Poojari, a 43-year-old female from Mumbai, India; suffered multiple traumatic injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead on Thursday, Oct. 2nd.

The bus, which was carrying 50 people, crashed after the driver lost control while traveling around a curve on U.S. 13 North in New Castle back on Sept. 21.

Fifty-four-year-old Hua'y Chen of New York City was ejected from the bus and then got pinned underneath it. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second woman, 30-year-old Idil Bahsi from Istanbul, Turkey, suffered multiple traumatic injuries and was transported to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center where she died several hours later.

Forty-eight other people on board the bus were injured.

"It's almost from like a war zone," said Elvis Cruz, who drove past the crash after it happened. "Everyone was so cut up, missing bits and pieces of arms and face. There was no one on the scene without blood on them except for me."

The 56-year-old male tour bus operator, Jinli Zhao, was charged with the Operation of a Vehicle Causing Death of Another Person (2 counts). Officials say additional charges will likely be filed.
