State Police: 2 Troopers In Frein Search Injured

BLOOMING GROVE, Pa. (AP) — State police say two troopers have suffered injuries while searching for the fugitive suspected of ambushing a northeastern Pennsylvania barracks.

Trooper Connie Devens says a Medivac helicopter has been requested for two troopers following an accident Wednesday night. She says the injuries are non-life threatening.

A massive manhunt has been underway for 31-year-old Eric Frein in the rugged terrain of the Pocono Mountains since Sept. 12. The self-taught survivalist is charged with killing Cpl. Bryon Dickson and seriously wounding Trooper Alex Douglass outside their barracks in Blooming Grove.

Hundreds of law enforcement officers have been searching an area near Frein's home in Canadensis. Frein has been spotted through the thick woods and two powerful pipe bombs have been found.
