Daughter of Phila. Soul Head Coach Eludes Crash That Killed 4 Teammates

By Matt Leon

MURRAY COUNTY, Okla.  (CBS) -- It was a tragic scene this past Friday in Southern Oklahoma, as a tractor-trailer slammed into a bus carrying members of the North Central Texas College softball team returning from a scrimmage.

Four players were killed and several injured.

The daughter of Philadelphia Soul head coach Clint Dolezel is a member of that team but was not on the bus at the time of the accident.  Nevertheless, the tragedy has left her family shaken.

Clint Dolezel says his daughter Molly, a freshman outfielder recovering from an ACL injury, had actually ridden the bus to the game with the team but decided to ride home with her mother and a teammate.

Soon after the accident, Dolezel says, he got the call about what happened.

"Tragic in every aspect. Just tough on every family. Puts a lot of things in perspective as far as life itself," he told KYW Newsradio.  "Your little girls... you don't ever want to outlive your children. Its been really rough on all the families as well as my daughter, Molly."

The school is raising money to help the families affected by the accident. The web link for making donations is at www.nctc.edu.
