New Partnership Means Camden County College Students Automatically Accepted At Rutgers

By Tim Jimenez

CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) --- Camden County College is getting more of a Rutgers influence. The two institutions announced an expanded partnership on Monday.

Rutgers University at Camden County College is the result of this new agreement. Officials with both schools along with CCC alum and State Senator Donald Norcross say this expands opportunities.

"Now to think, not only can you do your first two years here but seamlessly transfer right in to Rutgers in Camden," he said.

So, students who get their associates and maintain a 2.0 at CCC, will automatically be accepted at Rutgers-Camden if they choose to continue their education there.

Crystal Pagan-Perez, a sophomore here at CCC's Blackwood campus, says this means she and others are getting to save tuition money now while positioning to get their bachelor's later.

"Feel like you're just setting students up for success and it's kind of giving them that little push to keep on climbing," she said, "and I'm elated about that."
