Del Val's Rasheed Bailey Spends Saturday In The End Zone

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- It has been quite the offensive start to the season for the Delaware Valley College Aggies.

In starting 3-0, the Division III Aggies have scored 47.7 points a game, with players taking turns having days that end up in the school record book.

On Saturday, senior wide receiver Rasheed Bailey was huge in a 59-41 win over Lebanon Valley College. The Roxborough High School product caught 6 passes for 186 yards and a school-record tying 4 touchdowns. This performance came a week after senior running back Chris Smallwood rushed for a school record six touchdowns and three weeks after Bailey caught 11 passes for 216 yards and a score in a season opening win over Montclair State.

"We're having a ball on offense," Bailey tells KYW Newsradio. "We're just clicking on all cylinders. The power that we have with this offense is incredible. I've never experienced an offense like this. One day I can have a good game, one day the running back, Wilmer, other receivers. It's amazing."

Wilmer is Delaware Valley College senior quarterback Aaron Wilmer who is the point man for this incredible attack. He threw all four of the passes that Bailey caught for touchdowns on Saturday, and added a pair of scores on the ground, as well. Bailey says it is a lot of fun to have Wilmer throwing him the football.

"The chemistry me and him have is incredible," Bailey says. "We put so much time in throughout the summer, throughout the season and the preparation that me and him have and the drive and the dedication that we have to this game is like no other. That guy, he is a tremendous player and we compliment each other."

Bailey has now caught 104 passes in his career at Del Val. He is just the 11th player in program history to pass the 100 catch plateau. He talks about making an imprint on the program.

"I strive for consistency," Bailey says. "That's all I ever wanted to do and I always wanted to be a better player each and every year. (Head coach) Duke (Greco), he has put that imprint on me, it's like you can't settle for what you are, you've got to be better. You've got to be better, you've got to be better. He has done a tremendous job with me, and Wilmer and all the other guys on this team. He has definitely put an imprint on my career and also others."

Delaware Valley College will return to the field on Saturday, hosting Albright College on Saturday in Doylestown.
