Gov. Christie Welcomes Investors To Atlantic City -- Even Donald Trump

By David Madden

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) -- As Donald Trump expressed interest in getting back into business in Atlantic City, NJ, New Jersey governor Chris Christie says he'd be more than welcome.

Trump has said he'd come back for the right project at the right price, but admits there's some sentimentality mixed with that business interest.

Whatever the motivation, Christie says, if Trump wants in, no problem.

"I don't think Atlantic City needs 'saving,' " Christie said today, "but if Donald wants to come in and help, we invite everybody in.  And as you can see, there's a lot of interest in Revel now.  There's more people interested in coming in."

But Christie suggested that legislators take up his conditional veto of changes to the state's Economic Opportunity Act. He seeks to add Atlantic City to the list of distressed towns eligible for increased state aid but not other municipalities the Democrats want.
